La Porte High School girl’s varsity and junior varsity soccer teams have worked and practiced very hard with dedication and heart. They have had very competitive games since the season started. Despite a few losses the girls have not given up. The girls know that losing doesn’t necessarily mean giving up.

Playing with confidence and dignity has been taught upon us by our coaches: Brandy German and Amanda Jordan. On Tuesday, January 31st, the girls played a very competitive game against Clear Creek High School. The following morning our principal, Mr. Schoppe, received an email from a parent from Clear Creek saying the following:

Principal Schoppe,

Just a quick word from a Clear Creek parent on what a pleasure it was playing your junior varsity girls last night in soccer. My daughter said the game was very fun, hard fought, and that your JV girl’s players were so nice. I was a little confused by her comment and I asked her did they not play hard. Was the game not very physical? She said “No Dad, the game was really tough; I meant AFTER the game they were so nice and friendly. It was a lot of fun talking to them, they were so nice”. Congrats on reminding us that sports can be tough, fierce, and a LOT OF FUN.

Kudos to you, your coaches and ESPECIALLY your students for representing La Porte so well. Well done.

Joe Walker.

Mr.Shoppe was very proud of his students and said he just loves to receive information like that about his students.

“I’m very proud of my JV team and the soccer program for representing La Porte High School in a positive way. The girls play with a lot of heart and discipline each game. “It’s always nice when someone from the outside notices your work ethic and praises you for it”, said Coach Jordan.

The girls also had a tournament Saturday, February 11th and it was loads of fun! We won two out of three games placing La Porte in third place over-all. Come out and support our girls Tuesdays and Friday nights.
